Not saying this is a good idea but its food for thought. I have an uncle that has NEVER changed oil in anything. In his truck he has the filter changed every 10,000 miles. Has never had any problems to date. He drives about 40000 miles a year and buys new every 2 years. Been doing this as long as i can remember. Wadda yall think about that? His theroy is that oil never wears out just gets dirty.
I guess he doesn't understand oil viscosity being broken down.
I wish I got that deal... I just put it in all 3 holes at $10 / qt ($70) + K&N Oil Filter $17
For a grand total of $87 for a do it yourself OIL CHANGE...
Makes me wanna BARF...
I do the Tranny and Primary every 10,000 miles and the oil every 5,000 miles...
So every 5,000 mile change it costs me $60 and every 10,000 miles it cost $90
HURTS...
Quit your whining if you ride your bike 10,000 miles a year you have to put gas in it, how much do you spend on gas, beer and food when you are out riding and then you have insurance and you are whining about spending 150 bucks a year to maintain it? Dude if you can't run with the big dogs stay on the porch. I get my oil filters at the dealer 8.50 for black filter, screw that 17 dollars for a chrome filter
