My wife and I decided to ride up to the big lake today to see how the walleye fishing was on the reefs. It was rather chilly on the way up, and the wife got cold. We stopped at one of the local bait shops so I could pick up a few items and my wife could warm up. The bait shop has one of the best names ever for a bait shop.
After we left Happy Hooker, we rode into Port Clinton and had perch at Jolly Roger's Restuarant. Yummy.
Rode across the bay on the way home. Total about 140 miles. Nice ride and I'm dragging the boat back up in the morning to try and boat some walleyes.
Prob saw you on the way. I did about a 250 mile loop today from Grafton to Marblehead to Sandusky and around on some roads. It wasn't that cold. Or maybe it was but I didnt notice cause I've been cooped up so long it was nice to get out. Good luck fishing. They should be hitting soon I know the steelhead are running good right about now. See ya
Saw you at Jolly Rogers yesterday. Wondered who the brave souls were that were out riding -- a little too chilly for me. We followed you over the bay bridge on our way home.
Groversue -- I was out at the Lighthouse in MH yesterday....BRRRRRR! Hope it's warmer for your ride today!
I sure miss riding Ohio roads. I moved to get away from the Ohio winters. And though I ride here year round, the trade off was the roads are not as scenic and plentiful as I had in Ohio.
Ride safe and enjoy the new riding season.
I lived in Cleveland most of my life and the riding season starts off later than here. I still can't believe what a huge climate difference there is here in Cinci. Riding season starts in early March and I know we have to be at least 10* warmer than N. Ohio this time of year. Last week it was in the 70s here and 40s up there.
Anyway the whole Sandusky/Marblehead area is one of my favorites to ride.
