LED Bulbs!
The CD ones are plug and play as is the CD and / or Badlands RTB load equalizer. The how to would not contain much other then showing how to pull the lense covers and seat off.

These are the front and rears that I used, they do have to be modified lightly with a file, but I wouldn't say its a lot of work. The lower circuit board attached to the metal base of these bulbs is slightly larger in diameter than the metal base and prevent the bulb from pushing into the SG bullet socket deep enough for the pins to engage the turn lock position. Just file the circuit board down a little closer to the diameter of the metal base. just be carefull not sever the solder points or you will lose electic contact to some of the individual LEDS in the bulb. Its not that sensitive of a mod, its an easy, cheap way to get really bright LEDs for you signals without spending $200.00. If you search the web you can find other LED bulbs that have different "stepped" base that should plug right in without any modification. VLEDS used to have some of that type but I dont see them on their site anymore; their products change constanly, they get new, brighter bulbs in all the time, I just quit looking cause I got something that works. You will still need a Load equalizer. Sorry I don't know anything about 2011 SGs, My bike is a 2006. There could be a different issue with the 11 socket housings but I don't know. I sould change my post to clam this will work in 2006 SG, cause thats the only thing I can say for sure. I just felt that these LEDS advertised specifically for Harleys were priced absolutely rediculously. Really $200.00 for a set of signal bulbs. People are such suckers. I used one of their Brake bulbs also, plug and play no mod required, It may not be the brightest brake light you get for a Harley, but it is wicked bright and way brighter than the OEM incadescent.
Thanks again for all the info and tips. I thought I could just re & re some bulbs and be good to go, but now I see a 'load-equalizer' is needed? Just out of curiousity, I am going to assume that it mounts under the seat somewhere? Since doing the TP quick disconnect there is not alot of room under there. As well, what happens or is damage caused by not running an equalizer? Cheers.
So are you saying the CD ones don't require a load equalizer to be wired? If they're plug and play, I'm guessing they have a built in load equalizer?
I realize they all need an equalizer, but from what I've heard (as Stang951 said above) some of them are built in.
Is this the case? I tried generic LEDs in the past, just bulbs, and they didn't work due to the low draw they require. They just stayed on and didn't blink at all.
I'm looking for the clusters that have a built in equalizer that are plug and play.
