That's a great price.

The '06 is the last year of the TC88, so you get all of the improvements they made over the years to the TC88. Larger 1" axles, anti reversion heads , different injectors, upgraded stereo, just to name a few.

It's also the last year of the problematic cam chain tensioners, which you will need to address sometime in the future, providing you put on more miles than the original owner.

If its a non-California bike, you'll have a cat in the right side muffler only, which can cook the passengers right foot on hot days.

Watch out when starting out and turning, and stopping. The touring frame, with its reverse triple trees, takes a little getting used to.

There's a cat in the muffler?

$9,000.00 for a 2006 Ultra is crazy. I just bought an 06 Ultra Classic 3 weeks ago and spent $12,000 with 8800 miles on it. I thought I got a great deal. If you don't buy you are crazy. I am also on the East Coast so not sure how sales are out in Cali.
As far as going from a Fat Boy to the Ultra it will seriously take less than 37 seconds to get used to it. I went from a Yamaha Road Star Silverado to my Ultra and have not looked back. Enjoy the ride. I know we have.

Yep. 2006 was a transitional year with the EPA. Check the stamping on your right muffler, or take it off and look in the inlet, or check a parts book for the stock replacement mufflers, or easier yet, read page 46 in your 2006 owner's manual. In 2007, the ox sensors were added and the engine management was changed, and the cats weren't needed to make EPA specs that year.

The parts book will also show the California specific mufflers and cats.

A 2006 also has EPA cams with no overlap. They really wake up with a simple mild cam change, such as the Andrews 21's or 26's.

Well, I ditched the mufflers, and did the Andrews 26 cam a long time ago. I'll pull the muffler outa the cabinet and check it out.
