Took my outer fairing off today for the 1st time to replace gage lights, replace speakers, and install an XM antenna. I noticed a circuit board attached to the inner fairing on the left side. It was made by Skylink Technologies Canada. Any idea what this is? Only thing I can figure is it is part of HD garage door opener.
Also inspected the radio mounting bracket/outer fairing contact areas. Sure enough, mine had been rubbing pretty good. Have a couple nice grooves on the inside upper edge of the outer fairing. Time to do a little trimming before the outer goes back on. Only 20K on this bike, so those of you that haven't looked yet, you might want to check to see if the radio mounting bracket is rubbing the outer fairing before you end up with a hole.

1flhtk4me - No, I am not the original owner. Purchased it last fall just as the snow was falling and put it away for the winter. Just now breaking it out to get it ready for the riding season.
Beemervet - I also saw that site, that's why I was thinking it had something to possibly do with the HD garage door opener. "HD" is printed on the board. I also noticed there is a little black push button switch by the ACC switch, also something I would expect with an opener of some kind.
Here are a couple pictures. Sorry if the one is pretty fuzzy. It was party time in the shed and I was a little shaky.
........ while you've got the fairing off, i'd change out the crappy HD speakers for any upgrade model.
..... I put in Hogtunes .... they're inexpensive (relatively) and waay better than stock.
I would look that part # up. I can't make it out. I am sure that will lead you in the right direction. If I am correct, and it is a garage door opener kit you will still need the receiver side for it to work.

Just edited my original post to include that. It was on my list, just forgot to include it in my post.

I don't have a garage, let alone a garage door. The bike lives in it's own shed. Was just wondering what it was. Wanted to make sure the wife didn't have a tracking device installed.
It probably is part of the HD garage door opener system but whatever it is it looks like it is missing a cover. I would take it off and heat shrink the wires to avoid it shorting out.
