Default Battery Pigtail

I haven't looked yet. Will my '07 RKC have a pigtail on the battery to plug a battery tender into, or will I need to buy one?

If you are the original owner, it will not have one. The pigtail comes with the tender and must be installed.

Take a look in the area where you check the oil level for the engine, most dealers intall the connector needed, if not, one will come with the HD battery tender and it's easy to hook up.

My 05 RKClassic came with a pigtail preinstalled, I did't ask for it either. Don't know if the factory or the dealer put it there.

The bikes don't come from the factory with charger pigtails.

Well I guess it was awfully nice for my dealer to install one without charging me $95 per hour !

That's the only thing my dealer ever did for me... Gave me a tender and installed the pigtail. He made a big point of telling me how nice he was for doing it for me. And that was in October of '02 when they were giving Harleys away (note sarcasm).

Battery's 4 years old now and still seems to do what it's supposed to....

Ok, I was not aware that some bikes come with a pigtail, apparently by the dealer. My FLHX didn't have one. At least I don't think so.

Where is this "factory" pigtail installed? Does it attach to the battery or is it going to the frame ground and another 12v power point, like the fuse block? Just curious as to how it's installed. I installed my pigtail directly to that battery terminals and routed the connector behind the right side cover. I can reach up behind the cover and grab it with my fingertips to attach the charger.
