I don't think it calls for lube. I would uninstall and reinstall leaving a little play on the lateral movement. It may be that it shifted a little and is binding. If I felt it needed lubing I would use only a drop of gun oil or a dry type lube and limit its use to only the friction points.

Not trying to be a wise guy...but make sure you have the proper grip on the correct side of the handle bars...a friend made this mistake and his he thought the throttle grip was hard too..when I looked at it, it was on the wrong side...once switch it worked like a charm.

I use red axle grease on the part that is retained by clam shell.

Now I ask... how long do you think it took me to actually respond to this post in an adult like manner avoiding sexual puns? = a long time.

Some early failures:
I grease my grip with red axle grease around the lip.
I lube the lip with grease before putting it in the clam shell.
Sometimes the clam shell is tight and you have to lube the ridge near the end of the grip.
Work the tip of the grip back and forth in the clam shell with red axle grease to loosen it up.
Lube Just the tip, just the tip!

See...

I put my stock grips back on about a month ago and I used silicone spray to lubricate the TBW grip.

you're from south florida, go to a "fun" style massage parlor, they'll likely lube it for you. by the way, watch out for the sign in the door when it says "closed today, beat it" sorry man, i just couldn't help it.
