Default Oil Cooler Fix

This is a fix for the Ultra Cool that does not have the fan temp. switch mounted to the manifold on the cooling fins. My cooler did not come with the manifold mounted on the cooling fins(old style). I tried alot of combinations to get this switch mounted up front where it belongs instead of underneath the bike. I settled on the switch getting mounted perpendicular to the return side of the adapter plate, I drilled a hole into the adapter plate, threaded it 1/8" pipe, plenty of room, plus it's a good fit. Next I removed the existing 90's that came with the cooling fins(they were drilled/tapped too deep & were actually blocking flow). Went to Menard's. I bought 2 90 degree fittings(1/8"female:supply x 1/8"female:return). Went to hydraulic hose outlet, I bought 90 degree elbow fitting(1/8" male pipe x 3/8 hose barb:return), a straight fitting (1/8" male pipe x 3/8" hose barb:supply side). Parts house for a piece of 3/8" oil/fuel hose 12" long. This is the only way I could get my temp. switch mounted up front. I just did not like the idea of it being under the bike, especially if I wanted to mount a temp gauge on my bike. I tested it on a 250mile ride this weekend & am pleased, no leaks, fan turns on/off good. I don't have a temp gauge yet, so I cannot tell you at what temp it came on. Next weekend I will try to get an idiot light mounted to the fairing so I know when it is on. I thought maybe this might be helpful to some guys with the style of coolers like mine.
