While I was doing the "Big Cleanup" on my Road King, finally got around to checking the front brakes since I was replacing the tire..Had always thought that one of the rotors were warped since it would pulse when I used the front brake, and also had a bad rotor on my 06 RK..
Took a look at the pads and did not look bad at all,so I sprayed the calipers real well with brake cleaner grabbing the lever and extending the pistons and pushing them back in.. Put everything back together and was able to put a few hundred miles on it..Everything is working as it should.
Cleaning the caliper pistons will make a big difference in brake performance.
I use an old set of pads put them in the caliper, and squeeze the lever until the pistons are out almost all of the way,and hose them out with brake clean.
