Have you guys found that people steal your QD items? I never thought about that issue but i suppose there are some losers out there..........

I have an 05 RK with the QD Backrest and QD luggage rack. Each uses separate mounts. There are two mounting points for each on each side for a total of 8 mounting places. The front of each accessory has a slot to slide on the leading mount and then it rotates down into place. There is a notched latch that rotates around the rear mount and locks into place.
Worried about security for your attachments? Harley sells a lock that secures your QD items to the bike. Part # 46063-98 singly or 46106-00 for two keyed alike.

This was my exact same experience.. just used the assy. pictures from the sissy bar kit.
I have the QD backrest and luggage rack. I have had no problems with anyone bothereng anything on my bike.
I spent a day at the beech in Ventura, hung the helmets on the highway pegs and worried about them. Came back and they were still there. I have since bought a helmet lock.
I have not bought the QD locks yet, but I intend to.
Do you find that your saddle bags hit these new bolt heads when you open the bag, marring the top of the bags? Mine is worse when the backrest is installed and the release button almost doesn't allow the bag to open.
I should note I have an '05 RK Classic with the leather bags.

Did you put the 9/16â long spacers on the rear bag mount bracket? I tried it without them and had to put them in for that reason.
