Awesome Stereo System
Stock head unit, Biketronics 6.5's upper fairing, 5.25's lowers with Hog Tunes angled mount all powered with a Hawg Wired 3004 amp. Truely an awesome setup.
Last year I replaced the stock speakers with 6.5's in the upper fairing and powered them with a Titan 454 amp. Ok but not good enough. Added the 5.25's in the lowers and powered them with another 454 amp. Much better. Sounded good but bass was hard to get. I like to run with the volume just about as loud as it can go w/o distortion. The Biketronics amps would just not hold up. After replacing them a few times (Biketronics always warranted them) I gave up on the Biketronics amps and tried a Hawg Wired 3004 amp. Much better amp. It is adjustable, provides better bass but is a lot more expensive. Sometimes you get what you pay for.
Anyway, I had a chance to push this new amp over the weekend. Seven hour ride with no problems and my system sounds better than it ever did. Only problem was the battery died in my Zune. When it did I thought "here we go again, I'm gonna shove ....." Stopped, figured out it was only the battery, plugged it into a charger and away we went.
Thanks Frank
