Default Rear wheel replacement (stock)

I have an 05 Road King Classic. After finishing a 2600 mi road trip to the Dragon and back, I checked the rear spokes and found them loose. No problem, I had them tightened and the wheel trued up. Now i'm thinking that I might swap the rear laced wheel for an alloy wheel. I mean the wheel is just about all blocked out by the bags anyway. My question is are the stock alloy wheels on the other touring bikes the same size as my stock wheel? If I pick up a good used stock size alloy wheel on ebay say from a Street Glide will it fit my scoot?

I think axle size changed a few model years back, but not sure when. That would be my 1st check. Other than that I think you would be ok.

Since the SG just came out in 2006, I'd think you'd be safe on the axle size.

BTW, nearly an HD 16 inch rear wheel with a 1 inch bearings will fit. If you get a good enough deal on a 3/4 inch bearing wheel, you can always swap bearings.

You need a wheel that uses a 1' bearing. You can use a 3/4" bearing in a 1" wheel, but can't use a 1" bearing in a 3/4" wheel. While they both will fit, the 1" spacer will not work in a 3/4" wheel
