Default Exhaust / Ceramic coating / header wrap ?

I have a question for the Ultra owners out there. Not that I am a fan of the "stock exhaust" but I going to run this exhaust til it either breaks or rusts out. My question is has anyone taken that "header wrap" and used it on their exhaust to force the heat out the pipe? Next, has anyone had their pipes "ceramic coated" again to force the heat out the end of the pipe? Let me know, I am looking for a winter project this season.

Don't waste any time or money doing either of those mods to "stock" headers. Break down and get a decent set of pipes....PLEASE!

I've heard that the wrap overheats the pipe and causes it to crack. Is there any truth to this? I dunno. Just spend a little cash and get some good pipes. Good deals are available on ebay for used ones. You just have to look.

I use ceramic coated headers on my wagon (see sig) on a 395 ci Windsor Stroker. They do make a difference in underhood temps, but it isn't a lot. They big difference is they look exactly the same hot or cold, and with in 5 minutes of shutting the engine down, they won't take the skin off your hand. They'll still be warm but they won't brand you.

I have considered doing the same thing for the improved appearance of the exposed pipe by the right floor board and the rapid cool down on shut down. If I do it I will have them coated inside and out as this improves exhaust scavenging by keeping the heat in the pipe.
