Default Getting a bit miffed Older model stuff

I see alot of new stuff coing out for the newer models but not much for the older models ie pre 08 etc.

Say like exhaust options. Alot of new stuff coming down the pipe for the newer models but us guys that have 05s etc are stuck using the older stuff. Like these new X pipe or 2-1-2 systems that are coming out. I know that the older models have a different setup for routing the pipe ie above the trans and not below the frame but why can a kit be built to use the below the frame style X pipe on the older models.

Do these aftermarket suppliers/vendors just think that all these older models bikes just go to the scrap yard or something?????

Another thing is the Docking kits. Why can't they make a docking kit similar to the newer ones were you don't have to have that ugly hoop in the back for the rear docking point?????

I would love to beable to have a quick detach for my tourpack without having to have the ugly *** hoop on the back for the rear docking point.

Another one is seats. Very few options for seat for the older model electraglides unless you want to buy some uggly *** extender to extend the counsel or replace the whole counsel with the thinner street glide style which doesn't cover up the scuff marks left by the original wider one.

Don't forget audio stuff. Most of the newer stuff coming down the pipe is for the 2 ohm system. I quess they forget that there are thousands of older models out there that can't use the 2 ohm stuff, well unless you are willing to drop more flippen cash for amps etc.

Way way agree.....had to sell the 99 dyna and buy a 2008 RK.....flattered over how much I can do with the '08......but I agree, the HD line has the most older bikes on the planet.....say Rat 1......here is your chance to open your own biz and make parts for older bikes.

You see it happening, here, you see guys on here asking about older bikes , what about 2 questions out of what 4,000 .
These guys just don't keep them anymore, they ride them for a year or two , and then it is off to the dealer for the next greatest thing from the MOCO.
I like the older ones , less heat , no cat , no compensator problems, etc.
The new brakes are pretty awesome, but mine stop me just fine.

Sorry, But I'm Happy to see it. I purchased my Road King in 2009 and at the time there was very little at the time for accessories that would fit my bike.

But, It's getting better.

I agree with what Tony said. Sounds like a really good chance for somebody with the b@@ls to start a new business.

...hey the reason for it is simple....the pre 07 bikes were SO GOOD...that they don't need any aftermarket stuff to make em better.....

I tell you, if I had the funding to purchase the needed tooling to make stuff then there WOULD be just as many after market coming out of my shop for the older stuff as there would be for the newer stuff.

If I were in charge of Harley PGA there would be just as much stuff to keep the older model folks happy as the newer model folks.

First example would be the new BOOM Audio speakers for the newer models. There WOULD be the same speaker available with the proper Ohms imped for the older models.
