I'm talking oil temp, sorry I didn't post that, on my last bike and this one I have Dakota Digital Gauges and it has a temperature gauge with the sensor in the oil pan

Oil temp and head temp both seem normal. I run 220 highway and 255 in town. Harley told me normal head temp on my 1200 was 380 (sensor is in rear cylinder head).

That's about what mine is running too. Warmer than my previous TC88, but the service people at the dealership says it is OK.

I know they run hot, what about when you go for a cam swap over the stock cam, and tuner, what if anything will that do as far as engine heat temp?

without knowing how many miles you have on your bike it'd be hard to tell what's the right temperature for it. i know from my experiences my past few harleys get to running cooler at between 4,000 and 5,000 miles. our bikes were tested in extreme temps, like down near tuscon in the heat of summer=hotter than hell environment. i would not know what temp is correct as i've never bought into the oil temp dipstick thing. rack up some miles on it, and you'll likely observe that the motor begins running cooler, smoother, better fuel mileage and more power at the aforementioned miles. if it doesn't i'll gladly send you a coupon for a burger king whopper at normal price.

One of the reasons I went back to a 96" from the 103" was because of the heat from the motor. You can get a 96" to run with any 103", in fact my 95" 03' RK would beat the pants off most 103's today. The bigger they get, the hotter they are going to run. Wonder why the new 103's come with oil coolers?
