my question ...why did take a perfectly good stock 103 do so much internal ugrade? I have seen this too often. Have 2 friends who did internal upgrades and had problems since. My advice (though too late)is to leave the internal ugrades alone. Stage 1 is good then stop... sorry u got problems dude!
my cold cranking pressure was 197 in both cylinders when I did my 103 kit with 255 cams last year. I just ordered mva heads last week and am waiting for them to show up. Started to tear the motor down to get a head start on it tonight. Hope I dont have any problems like this.
I have a 2011 Roadglide Custom, I had the dealer install the screamin eagle 113 kit, with the CNC ported heads, high compression pistons, 58 mm throttle body and intake, 266 cams the complete 113 kit.
They put it together and it only made 70HP on the dyno, they blamed the tune, so we Tuned it it and it only made 75 HP but was detonating so bad they were afraid it was going to blow up. The compression tests showed 160 on each cylinder.
The suspected cam timing so they took it apart and checked the cam timing and pushrods etc. Everything checked out, so they put it on the dyno again and it did the same thing.
So they took it apart again and changed the cams thinking maybe they were off from the factory, they put 264s in and it only made 60 hp.
They were stumped and the factory doesn't have any answers, they ordered in a new 113 kit thinking there must be a defective part, however eveything in the new kit measures and mic's out the same as the old kit. The dealer and the factory are stumped as to what to do.
Any one have any of these problems or have any suggestions??
I would suspect the install not the parts. Even the canned maps they upload, although not optimum, will not cost you 50 hp or detonate that badly. I would have the 266's re-installed with the new parts and the one thing that comes to my mind is the rings may be installed improperly. When it's apart have the rocker boxes clearanced for the valve springs or buy the SE's that are pre ground for 100 bucks. You should have roller rocker arms with those valve lifts and high valve spring rates. The 58 is just fine, don't look there for compression or hp problems. The heads and pistons are engineered as a package and will perform great if installed correctly. That kit should run very well IF installed correctly.
because he can -- nothing stock is good enoungh for some of us -- we just deal with the consequences when it does not go according to plan

It is too bad when things do go wrong.... I have helped friends do builds like this...against advice but we do things right, and they do seem to develop problems...but your right. to each his own, I just pass my advice onto others..
is it possible you mixed up the 2 fuel injection plug when it went back together. I took my bike apart today and marked my rear with a tie wrap and the injector with a tie wrap so i dont mix them up, the ends of the plugs are the same and I tired to put the rear plug on the front injector and it fit right on. the cords. the 2 cords come out of the same plastic hold down one on top of the other so it woulod be pretty easy to mix them up if you didnt mark them. One cylinder would be injecting late and the other would be early. not sure how the bike would run like this but who knows.
First I want to thank everyone for their help so far,
We have checked the fuel injectors and they are in the right order, the push rods are in correctly, The rocker boxes are clearenced. The parts in the kit have all been measured and double checked and they are all correct.
