I use HD's chrome polish & never dull...works well for me.

no.7 chrome polish is best i've found, also use honda/yamaha spray for quick detailing of chrome

i used just an off the shelf auto paste wax the day i brought bike home (new)! i found that i just apply a fresh coat of paste wax every spring! all dirt/tar/bugs/road grime just wash right off! if its excesive i might have to hit it a bit harder with my rag/sponge! do it right the first time and it makes life alot eaiser!

i use never dull if really trying to clean ground in dirt and polish. i find it is more work than i want for just polishing chrome - takes a long time for me to feel like it is all off. turtle wax is cool and retro. for my scoot though, i have landed on the HP chrome polish. really like it.
