I use mothers and a polishing cone. be careful not to overapply and start the drill to early. flings polish all over the place and makes more work. think of it as using a polishing cloth but at the speed of the tazmanian devil. makes quick work of my front wheel and headlight for sure.
mothers chrome polish.. if a part is starting to rust or has baked on?? 0000 steel wool works great
Had to laugh "Brasso & Neverdull". Haven't thought about those since I was still on active duty.
Carnauba wax here. Back in the Corps before anodized brass belt buckles we used brasso to flatten out the top part of the buckles, so yes it is abrasive. Rust on chrome you can use gas, works great, just remember not to light a flare while you're doing it.
the only thing i polish chrome with is wax without any abrasives. most chrome polish or metal polishes have abrasives, and that's why i use good car wax on the chrome parts.
#7. All polishes have abrasives, that's what makes it "polish". Chrome polish has finer abrasives than auto body polish. If it's good chrome and you don't overdo it you won't scratch or swirl it. If you lay into aluminum with a polishing wheel you easily can. Once it's really clean a coat of paste wax will keep it that way for months- just a quick wipe down.
