I use hydrogen peroxide mixed half and half with distilled water and spray on the windshield to dissolve the bugs. I like to watch the bug juice boil and then I wipe them off. Afterwards I polish the windshield with Honda spray polish. Been doing this for years.
I used to carry a can with me when I wore a full face to clean the helmet shield. It works great. I do the whole bike with it sometimes too. Good stuff but if you use lemon watch out for the bees in the summer.
