Default Just taking it off- Tour Pak

I have looked into the detachable tour pak kit, but want to remove it for now. If I purchased the harnesses, is that all I would need to do for now?

Let me know if we can get it off fairly easily. I'm worried about wiring and antennas relocators, but will purchase them. Just will be a removal until quick detach kit rack is purchased.

I elimated the external antenna by using an inside-the-fairing antenna. The detach is nice, and the bike looks clean without it. Because I carried more gear in the winter, I would leave it on, and remove it in the summer.

Now, I am finding that it's just easier to leave it on.

I like having the detachable unit, but I find that it's on a whole lot more than it's off.

My bike is a Classic,so no wiring to worry about. But you need to relocate your tag if your bike is 09 or newer.I used the RK signal bar and now the tag is below the tail light, and bought a bracket for the antenna to mount it between the bag and fender.

It's funny how people always want to change what they have. I have a street glide ( and love it ), and also have the detach kit to install a tourpak when I go on extended trips. I was actually considering looking into ways of making the install more permanent. LOL!

I removed the tour pak on '09 Ultra Classic. I bought all of the detachable hardware but have not installed the 4 point docking hardware yet. I figured I would do that when I get ready to put the tour pak back on for the first time. I love the Street Glide look but the Corbin Classic solo is very uncomfortable and I miss the extra storage and may put the tour pak back on permanently.

Every time I think about making mine detachable, I look at all the crap I carry in it. I can't see giving up that space.

I have a detachable because I like the bike better without it, but it comes in handy on trips. I take it off and keep it in the hotel room, unless I know I am going to buy something I need to put in it.

I also use the quick detach, I only use the thing when carting a passenger!

Geez thanks. I've got a kit on the way. You're probably right, I carry a lot of stuff in mine as well.
