I just finished up installing a V&H Pro Pipe Chrome on my 07 FLHX. After letting it idle in the garage for less than 5 minutes I could clearly see that the front and rear head pipes had a nice orange/red glow to them near the exhaust ports. I've not once noticed that with the stock headers and V&H Oval slipons I had before.
I do have a stage 1 breather, PC3 w/ Fuelmoto map, and the ambient temperature is about 45 degrees outside.
So.....should this concern me? Is this typical of a new system?
that same thing happened to me but i just swaped a 2010 2-1-1 to a 2011 2-1-2 system --as soon as i put vh slipons on and rode it the glowing stoped--but she sure glowed red with the stock mufflers
+1 remap. i had the same issues. i didnt want to wait to down load the new map. i wanted to hear the new pipes and that is what happened to me. soon as i remaped, no more issues
Sounds like it's too lean. Then again, it's going to get very hot just setting there running in the garage and not getting any turbulent air to cool the motor. I'd want a new map though.
Yes, I do have a new map from fuelmoto for the 2-1. I took a look at it and the map doesn't and any fuel at the zerp
Fat fingered my reply on the smart phone.......anyway, the map doesn't add any fuel at idle. My old map added 10% at the zero throttle position. Maybe I should add that back in.
