I have 8700 miles on a front tire on dunlop 402s. The dealer say it needs replaced. There is a little over 3/32 left on the tire. Everything I read says 2/32 or less, replace. I will not buy a tire from them anyway, which is what they want. Should I replace or do I have at least 1 more season left?
Wonder if you are mashin too much when stopping. To only have 3/32 left is pretty bad. I can get mid teens on my bike for the front tire. Actually got 1900 on my last Ultra. As to replacing, it fails with less than 2/32 so ya might as well replace unless yo[U] dont do many miles a season.
You should have a lot of miles left, if the only reason for replacement is 3/32, since the tire only had 5/32 when new, I'm going to guess it's going to go to around 12-13,000 miles before needing replaced. If cupping or any other reason for replacement then I would examine those areas and decide. It is also a 1/32 wear line on a motorcycle tire, unless things have changed and I don't know about it.
