Default Fairing Amplifiers??'s

I'm in the process of re-doing the audio system on my ElectraGlide, and was wondering what amp's people are using in the fairing. I have a pair of 6.5's and tweeters in the fairing and a pair of 6 x 9's in the bags. I hate going to the local stereo shops until I know exactly what I am going to get, because they try to "make" you get what they want to sell you. I was thinking of going with the Alpine PDX F-4, but not sure if it will fit in the fairing compartment. Thanks in advance for your comments!!

I'm a satisfied user of HOGTUNES new NC 40.4 160 watt amp (2 ohms output). It comes with a wiring kit that will run power to your bag speakers as well as your fairing spkrs and is plug and play.

The 20 year warranty is hard to beat and the owner PEZ stands behind his products if there is a problem down the road. Just Google "Hogtunes" and have a read--- email info@hogtunes.com

If your present speakers aren't 2 ohms you will need to rationalise the speaker impedence against the amp output. I'm sorry that I can't explain this properly and if you don't know ask Hogtunes if their amp will work with speakers that are not 2 ohm.

Maybe someone here that knows of such things will add to this, or try the search function as there is a lot of info on sound systems here.

BTW- welcome to the board!

alpine pdx , will not fit inside the farrings , you can only hide it inside the saddle bags , or in the tour packs, pdx 6 150/4 is a good choice ,with good sets of speaker , you will have kick *** system. people that runs arc audio, J&M , hog tunes ,biketronics , or whatever amps that fit inside the farings, pdx , will put them into shame .all the guys that using alpine pdx, in this forums .knows that.

"Wondering what amp's people are using in the fairings" limits the choices to those that are fairly small sized and have low power consumption. The alpine PDX's are nice amps for sure but what won't fit is not a valid comparison now is it. Measure an amp, make a cardboard mock-up and see for yourself if it will fit when the outer fairing goes back on.
If having the baddest sound rig is your goal, tow a trailer with a genset, 8D battery and some peavey columns with a few thousand watts of amps.
I am absolutely sure this would blow.

The Hogtunes amp has a 1 year warranty, their speakers have the 20 warranty. I also have the Hogtunes NCA 40.0 amp and I'm very happy with it. It fits like a glove, the wiring harness is well thought out, it's fan cooled and it really makes the bike's audio come to life! Excellent product and you can find it for around $260 online.

If I was reading their warranty info correctly, the speakers have a 20 yr. and the amps are only 1 yr.

I had Hogtunes and I wasnt satisified with it. I went to the Arc. I was nice system. Then I heard a Hawg Wired. And that is what I have now. I can crank it and it stays clear.

(I will have some Hawg wired 5.25 speakers and the adaptor for the hand controls for sale in a couple weeks)
