I have been looking into the different fuel mgt systems, I stopped at the dealer and was told the Power Commander has had some issues in working with the throttle by wire touring bikes. I realize the dealer wants to sell the SE race tuner because its the company part, has any one else heard of issues with PC on the new bikes?
I've had a PC V on my 08 SG for a couple of years. No issues.
Doen't the sert flash the ecm and doesn't that mean he needs to get it back to stock ecm before applying the PCV?
BTW I agree with all other posts Jamie is the way to go with either product PCV or PV just put my pcv on a week ago with new pipes and slip ons from fuelmoto and all I can say is WOW but then again if it ever stops raining in St. Louis area I can experience it a little more.

yup...
If I were you I'd get the TTS MasterTune.. similar to the SERT (TTS is the company that made the SERT for HD).
you won't need to take it to a dyno to have it tuned if you don't want to, you can tune it yourself with their vTune software.
waaay more capability than any other tuner out there now.

Thought so.... So TTS is a better way for him to go because it also will flah the ecm either that or he has to pay the dealer to flash his ecm to a stage 1 download wich I know you can pay to do or to Stock if that is possible from the dealer but either way I have read on here it is like 200 bucks.
2) 30 degrees shouldnt be enough to drasticly throw off a map
3) If you were going to schedule dyno time anyway, why not ask the tech what he is comfortable working with with regards to ECM's? If this is a dealer, chances are he will say a SERT but is that so bad? They do the job and if that is what the dyno tech is most competent in working with, you will end up with a better tune.
4) I don't understand folks that throw money hand over fist at a motor and settle for canned maps. Yes, they are good and will get you real close but why not spend the last few hundred and know for a fact what your ratios are? I know this one doesn't jive with the majority opinion but its just the way I see it.
Good questions and answers...just what I need to know. So what I'm looking at is a ton of money regardless.... I'll have to pay the dealer to flash my ECM back before I can use the PC V, didn't realize that. I will contact Jamie at FuelMoto for sure and post what he says....thanks guys. Looks like an expensive lesson is about to be learned here.... The thing I have trouble swallowing is if I would have known the SERT module was not with the bike when it needed to be, I would NOT have bought it. And if I were the seller and this happened to a buyer unintentionally like he said, I would make it right...... but that's just me.
