Default Fuel Gauge

yesterday i posted with pics about my new 2011 Street Glide 103.
i have a question now..... i traded in my 09 Road King and as you may know the fuel gauge is close to useless (dealer even told me that when i bought, and was right). so now with the street glide can i count on this gauge or is it also useless?

thanks to all for any info!

oh and before anyone even says it..... i have only been able to put on about 100 miles due to work (o.t pays for upgrades), and rainy weather! lol!

gauges on the dressers are not 100% accurate but are a good indicator and reasonably close, fill up a few times when you first hit reserve and it will give you a good idea where it's reading

I have a 2010 and feel that the fuel gauge is pretty accurate. When you scroll through the odometer to get the remaining miles left to travel that is also pretty close. Ive run it down to the low fuel lite but haven't really pushed it much after the lite comes on to see if i could get the last 20ish miles out of it.

It's always best to rely on your mileage as indicator of how much fuel you have left and not necessarily the gauge. If you get around 40 mpg and you have a 6 gallon tank then you should be looking for gas around the 200 mile mark.

I use the gauge and the tripmeter. Reserve light usually comes on when I have 1/2 gallon left in my 5 gallon tank.
