Default Magnum Chromite Issue

I have everything to install my 14". Got it all from Dr V Twin and that part went great. Moving along I got to installing the lower brake lines. There is a mounting "puck" that holds all 3 lines to the underside of the triple tree. On the tree there are a locating pin and threaded hole for the mounting bolt. Here's the issue, the holes don't line up. If I locate the bolt hole the locating pin doesn't end up in the locating hole on the "puck" and vice versa. I have 3 options: 1. Wait and call tomorrow and see what the deal is, 2. Cut off the locating pin and 3. Drill a new hole for the locating pin. Any thoughts?

When you call Magnum they will tell you their policy is for you to return the cables and they will determine if something is wrong, if so they will fix it and return the cable to you. I figure this will be about a 2 week process so hope you are not wanting to ride anytime soon. I just went through this with them on a clutch cable.

I'm leaning towards cutting off the locating pin. The hole it sits in is about 3/8" dia and the pin is maybe 1/8". I can use cable ties to hold the puck assembly tight to the triple tree. I can't imagine mush movement there.

You ordered the wrong part, it is not their fault so you will pay a 25% restock fee if you want to exchange for the correct part. Good luck

Same exact thing happened to me last week. I checked the part number and it is the right part, so i pulled the locating pin out and bolted the lines on. I could not wait to ride any more!

Same exact issue with my lines on my road glide. Called dealership I bought them from they told me the line was correct and it should work. Walked over to my buddys 2010 street glide that the dealership installed the lines on and the "Puck" had been removed. So I pulled mine out and installed the brake line everything works great.

cf3go, do you think there is anyway that puck is going to move w/o the pin? I was thinking of putting a couple of cable ties around the solid part of the brake line and the triple tree, that should hold it.

When I did this conversion to my Road King I could not put back on the chrome cover that hides all that mess.
