Default Decel Pop

I just recently had my stage 1 upgrade done with a set of V&H monster ovals, arlen ness big sucker, and a PC-V from Fuel Moto. When I was running stock the bike had a very slight decel pop - more of a gurgling - when you would back completely off the throttle in a lower gear. Now after the upgrade the decel pop has become more pronounced. Nothing huge or loud, no backfiring, just a more pronounced and occasional popping sound. If I back off the throttle completely in 5th or 6th it doesnt do it at all, and it doesn't do it when I am shifting up through the gears. Just when I back completely off the throttle in lower gears. I should add that I used the map for the PC-V that was provided by Fuel Moto for my configuration and did not have the bike dyno'd.

The thing of it is the bike is running great with more zip than it did in the stock configuration. MPG is just about the same as before, and oil temps are around 220 right after I shut down (it was 70 yesterday). Everything else is great. Should I just live with it until I have the money to get a dyno done, or is it something I have to worry about sooner? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

Contact Jamie at fuel moto, he will revise the map and send you a new one. Doesn't sound like it needs much alteration.

Usually decel pop can be fixed by adding fuel to the map at the zero throttle marks along the RPM's where this is happening. If you notice popping at 2300 - 1900 RPM's then change the value at thos RPM's on the map to 10 or 15. Should quiet her down.

A small leak on your pipes, can also cause a decel pop

Default You'll find it almost impossible to

get rid of decel popping with the Monster Ovals. They are such big cans that even adding +12 at 0% throttle on your PCV won't stop it. It's seems to be quite common for any of the big volume slip-ons to have lots of decel popping. I removed my M/O's and replaced them with Bub7's and the popping just disappeared but have the same deep rumble.

i used to have decel pop and you can add fuel at 0% throttle but mine really went away after i change my cams over to fueling reapers
i honestly think those epa cams have something to do with it

Get into the PC-V software and add 10% - 15% to the 0% throttle from 1000 to 3000 rpm. It will basically elliminate the popping. The MO's have little or nothing to do with the popping.
