Default Tank Badge

Can I put this badge on my 2011 SG? How hard is it to remove the stock one and add this if possible? Thanks!

Goo Be Gone will work and not mess up the paint. Or check with your HD body shop & see what they use to remove one.

Thumbs up

I have that emblem on my 07 sg. Presoak the old one with wd 40, wait at least 1 hr. or better yet give it over night and then remove with fishing string by running the string behind the emblem in a back and forth saw motion. Emblem will come right off then clean with goo gone or similar product.

With some help from a heat gun or portable ceramic heater (what I had handy) Using dental floss doubled...slowly SAW off the old emblem...then you can ..pull off remaining sticky tape with fingers and clean it up with 3M adheasive remover. I also just happened to have a plastic electrical outlet cover close by which served as a gentle on the paint scraper to help get some of the old tape off. SC

So what about it is not perfect? It looks great on there. It just fits the Road King...

The emblem is for the older 5 gallon tanks. Since 2008 the 6 gallon tanks are larger so there is a small gap between the tank and the mounting plate that sticky tapes to the tank. The emblem is cast so it can't be bent to fit.

use dental floss to remove your old emblem. after you saw through the double sided foam tape you can use wd-40 to remove the sticky stuff remaining on your tank. the wd-40 is not aggressive enough to chew into your paint. it does take some time, but it works great. do not use wd 40 while sawing through the 3m foam rubber stuff though, use the wd 40 after you remove your stock emblems.
