Can anyone help me with this problem i'm having? A couple of weeks ago my engine started running rough at all rpms the engine shakes when stoped and at an idle and when crusing theres a vibration that wasn't there a few weeks ago. It's like the engine is skipping. I have an 03 FLHRCI, stage 1, Rinheardt true duels, PCIII USB 29000 miles. So far I've replaced the plugs, wires, checked the exaust headers, there good and tight. I've run the bike with and without the PCIII connected but still the same thing, I've been through a few tanks of gas so I don't think thats the problem either. I don't know what else to check, any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

 

My Geezer glide (2003 eletraglide classic) had a similar problem.
Turned out to be leaking injectors. Changing O rings didn't help much,
had to change both injectors.

I had an 02 RK, similar problem. Turned out to be that the injector wires were pulled to tight comming out of the main wire harness. Over time one injector wire broke inside the harness and made intermittant open circuit which caused missing, rough running ect. The fix was to find the broken wire and repair. Had the dealer do it.

 

Stock injectors are ~ $55 retail. You can get them form Zanotti for 20+% off. I think you may also need to buy the o-ring kit.

 

Actually nothing, Dealer used some obscure hidden clean air module warranty
or something like that. You might still qualify. If not, injectors
aren't that expensive. Could be done if the stealer does it
for couple c notes including labor. less if they have tried other things
and it didn't work.

Ok I dont mean to hijack this thread but wouldnt a bad injector or broken injector wire set a code ? I'm just curious....................BG

 

Well I took apart the air cleaner last night and did the wire test and no change. I also sprayed some carb cleaner around the intake and also no change. This is starting to look like a trip to the stealer.

 

seen more than one do this,check the connector on the cr/sensor under the oil filter. usually will turn on the check engine light,though.

 

The check engine light isn't on and when I tried to retreve diag. codes nothing came up. BUT I was talking to a wrench today and he said that here in CT they started adding ethanol to the gas supply about 3 weeks ago (just about the time this whole thing started). He suggested I try a fuel additive called Startron from a company called strabrite.com some very interesting reading about this stuff.
