Default 07 Road King.....WOW!

Road a 07 RK yesterday, dealer demo bike. Gotta say I was very impressed with the engine and trans. The tourque of the 96 inch engine is amazing after coming off a 06 ultra with 88 inch motor. The trans shifted nice and I did hear a little whine in 5th, but probably wouldn't have noticed if I wasn't looking for it. The clattering sound I keep reading about was there only if I really lugged the motor and normally I would never ride it that way, I was just looking for the noise! The stock pipes have a pretty good rumble to them and I can see why alot of guys are leaving them on. After coming off a bike with rineharts it was a nice change, just a nice rumble in the background. The engine heat issue I can't really verify because it was only 13 degrees C. so any extra heat would be a plus. I think the harley flash would probably fuel it up enough to cool the motor down in its stock form or a pc III would do the job. I don't think anybody would be too dissapointed with the 96 out of the box performance wise, unless their coming off a modified bike.

I am another one of the very pleased '07 SG owners, but I must say that I 'love' your tank emblem and would replace mine if I could find yours as an available purchase. Classic looks and style.

Ignore the idiots on here. Some have a legitimate problem with their bike but I bet the vast majority read stuff on here and all of the sudden their bikes are going to explode. Motorcycle hypochondriacs, plain and simple . The guys that post the same drivel over and over and over do nothing to help themselves or anyone else on here. Keep coming back though, the few happy '07 owners need all of the support we can get. I almost feel neglected since I don't have anything to grip about with my '07

I bought an '07 Ultra coming off of a FAT BOY. The wife just would not do long rides on the soft tail anymore. All I can say is WOW what a ride. I never catch myself looking for that missing gear anymore. If anything I find I forget to shift because all the ranges seem a bit taller. The engine is amazing. If they would just do something with that heat off the back cylinder it would be perfect.
