Mobil1/S&S make a filter that is 1/8" less in diameter than the HD filter, part # 31-4101. Much easier to get past he crank sensor plug.

I use the long K&N filter on my racin N'ster to get a little more capacity.

If it works then yes.

I have a Harley extended warranty, so I will keep using OEM Oil (SYN3)and filter to keep it all in Harley's court. If there is a issue I want the finger to point in one direction.

HD black cause I'm to cheap for chrome. Many aftermarket filters are not 5 micron.

Any filter designed to work on a Harley Evo or TC will have a bypass (not talking about racing filters).

TC filters will also have an anti-drainback valve.

Evo filters don`t need to have an anti-drainback valve because the filter is in the oil return path.
