2000 SE Roadglide electrical issues?

2000 SE Roadglide electrical issues?
Im posting this for a buddy of mine, his 2000 SE Roadglide 1550 ,is having some issues and I searching for an answer. 2 nites ago while out for a ride his bike suddenly died and would not start. After towing it home and checking the battery it was stone dead, the battery was replaced with a new one and it fired up right away, the only problem is now the radio will not work. All the lights come on the radio display is lit up, shows the station, volume level, but no sound. The only sound coming from the speakers is a low rumble of pops and static, we tried everything but no sound. Can anyone give some insight on this one?
