2000 EGC Stereo ?s
Still cant get used to asking about the stereo on the bike haha. Use to ride a Sporty.
Have the cassette tape HU 2 speaker system. First question, can the volume control be disabled without a trip to the dealer? Any special button sequences to shut it down?
Also I get some sharp statically pops and sometimes just cuts in and out. Is this a known problem with this year(s) of EGCs?
I have'nt had a chance to get the flairing off to take a look at the wiring and such, YET. I just so happened to meet the previous owner (who was the second owner) and he said "she is a great bike except for the radio cutting out". So I know it had been around for a time.
I havent had the time yet to use the AUX input and see if issue is in the part of the radio module or just the whole damn thing.
No I am not going to spend the $$$ for the full blown setup. I did that a few years ago with Alpine, MB Quartz etc. If I can get the sound to stop popping, just going to put in some coaxials and call it good.

a buddy of mine had the same problem with his 99, radio would also go to max volume by itself. he took the seat of and cleaned up the ground connection from the battery to the frame and hasn't had a problem since. might not fix your problem but it's worth a shot.

Thanks for the respons and the info. Was going to take just the front flairing off but think going to have to hit all the major connections. The bikei s 12 years old and probably never had a tightening run.
