Default Air Shock Question

2007 FLHX - Should I adjust the air pressure in the scocks when adding a tour-pak or a passenger or both? If I should, what should it be?

there is a chart in the owners manuel,it gives recommended pressure for different loads.be careful with advise here different models use different pressures,be very carful when adding air the shocks are easy to overfill and blow the seals.

If you add any amount of extra weight better to add some air.You can experiment and find out what pressures suite your needs.

In the owners manual are all the answers. It does make a difference. I usually run very little air in the things. Last year I took the wife and 3 deays worth of gear on a trip. We kept bottoming out the shocks on any little bump. Then I remembered why. Aired them up and no more issues.

I add about 5 pounds over what the owner's manual says. Seems better. Be sure to check your manual as the different touring bikes of the same year have different pressures.

on my 04 I ride two up most of the time... I played with the air in those rear shocks and really never could find something that worked well, finally broke down and got some Werks and have never looked back.. good luck on your quest - IF you get tired, there are other options

"Works" is an aftermarket shock company that makes improved systems for motorcycles, But if you own an '09 and later you have the new HD 50 lb shocks that are much improved over what we rode on from '08 and earlier.

Just play with different pressures 'til it feels like it did before you added weight.
