I have respect for all the 1%ers I know
Why? Have they done anything to earn your respect or are you simply afraid of them?

I would have to wonder the same....it is respect born of the things they do and what they stand for, or respect born of Fear of Violence?

Gotta agree with the others...If I were you I would think twice about the idea. Hate to see you get any unwanted troubles. I have the UTMOST respect for motorcycle clubs...knowing several riding BRO's from several differant clubs.

it is respect born of the things they do and what they stand for
The things they do revolve around the drug trade and other forms of criminal activity(that's where the 1% part comes into play since they have chosen to cast themselves as being the 1% of motorcyclists that are not honest law abiding citizens). What do they stand for then? Being a bunch of criminals is nothing to be respected for. If it's a fear thing, then I suggest staying away from them anyway but I laugh anytime I see someone idolizing a 1% biker. I wouldn't wear a shirt to a rally though since it is just asking for trouble but like DI said it's a free country.

That is not true of all members, as in every large organized group you can find good & bad.

I owned a biker bar for almost 20 years(I sold in a few years ago). My business partner was a Hells Angel. I was business partners with another Angel some years back(he died in a M/C accident)when we owned a chopper shop. Both of these guys where GREAT GUYS. My partner in the bar was a huge, tough, heavily tatooed guy who was pretty scary looking. He was also the most honest guy I have ever met(He absolutely HATED thieves). He was married to the same OL for 28 years & never cheated on her.

He also had never been arrested or been in jail. I would trust him with my life without a 2nd thought.

Mad,
These guys are sensitive and appear to be scared from just the mention of he name HA's.!!!!
I am in Law Enforcement and have been for almost 26 years so during that time I have had run in's with all kinds of "Gangs/Clubs.
You are exactly right when you say the are involved in alot of drug and illegal activity and when RICO came along it gave us even more to shut them down.
Most of the MEMBERS are have a co-dependent type personality and feel they will feel better about themselves if they Belong to Something.
I encourage everyone to stand up for what they believe in but that is not the case when it comes to Gangs. Matter of fact it is illegal to belong to a Gang in my state.
I simply started a thread about a funny tee-shirt and most everybody that post replies seem to be SCARED!!!!!
I remember when I was young, and going down the highway with my parents and would see 2,3,5 bikers come along side of us.
My mom would say "Don't look at them".
This conception has carried on since then and before and is why some people still feel the way they do about Bikers.
The people I ride with are all professional, hard working middle class and to my knowledge try not to break the law.
Sorry if I offended anybody in posting my original thread but this is America.
Later,

Not all clubers are criminals. I really hate this discrimination against 81 and the rest.

Take a look here. http://www.redwhiteclothing.ca/club/page9.html

You asked a question which most everyone thought was not smart. All they told you was that you were asking for trouble. I don't think anyone here is afraid of the Hell's Angels. There is just no reason for an intelligent person to throw gas on a fire.

This thread (Like every 1% thread since I've been here) has outlived it's usefulness.
