Default Internal Antenna or Short Antenna?

I am wanting to get rid of the stock antenna and have been talking to some people that have the internal antennas and say they love them. Seems like the people that I talked to that had the short ones hated them. Any input?

I have a 2011 street glide and I bought a $8 marine antenna from amazon and put it in my bike. Then I went to harley and got the $3 filler plug to cover the hole where the old antenna rested.

I think the signal is weaker, but I probably routed the antenna poorly. I don't listen to it anyways unless the ipod is dead.

This antenna is a direct plug in.

Short one on mine, definitely better looking than the stock eye poker, no complaints...

I have the low relocation kit on my bike for the antenna and I installed the short antenna. I think it looks and works fine. Definetely like the look of the short antenna, especially mounted low, a lot better than the look of the long antenna.

Have considered adding the fairing antenna, but that's a low priority, since I pay very little attention to the antenna as I have it now.

Short antennas look cool, but the reception sucks in rural areas. For this reason I remove em' and use the tall whips on road trips.

I got both connected to a Y-adapter. A rubber shorty out back and an internal one in the fairing. Reception is good, not great, just good. From what I have seen and read here, the stock eye poker whip is the best out there for reception.

I installed the short one but could not get good reception. It was like there was not an antenna on at all. I removed the shorty and installed a Hot rod amp antenna in the fairing. Works better than the original whip and cannot be seen.

I have the internal antenna behind the batwing. I've removed the topbox and fitted the detachable sissy bar, backrest and luggage rack, and when I take them off for around town it gives it a real clean bagger look in the back end. I live in a rural area and the internal antenna has definately given me better reception compared to stock. Why that is I dont know but its definately an improvement

I bought the $22 hidden antenna on eBay, it works great.
