Default Progressive 412

I'm thinking of getting the 11.5" 412s for my eglide, has anyone had experience with these shocks? How do they compare to the stock shocks?

I have run the 412s for years and love em. I would go at least 12" though unless you are under 150# or so. I always go with the 12" heavy duty as im at 260#. I ran the 440s before I tried the 412s and was surprised how well the 412s worked.

I'm running 12" 412s. The heavy duty model. On the second click they are a little stiff solo. (I weigh 240) Running 2 up they are fine. (wife weighs 135)

I like em.

Have the 440's with solo spring rate. 412's with dual rider spring rate. The 412's are surprisingly good shocks.

yeah what they said , make sure you get the HeavyDuty version if you ride 2up or over 160 lbs.. also if your lowering the bike i would go Stock Hieght and get the lowering Brackets that angle the shock back to lower it. you retain stock ride quality with the lowering bracket.. i made the mistake of putting lowered shocks on and rode 2up and bottomed out alot. i then installed stock hieght ones and put the lowering bracket on and ride qaulity is amazing ..

Two years ago, when I was tired of the crappy air shocks on my 04, I research and called both Progressive and Werks - Werks Customer service on the phone won me over, I ended up taking my bike to their shop in southern CA and having them build the shocks for my bike and me + my wife. They took our weights = weight of our geer that we carry when we travel and built a set of shocks. We talked a lot on the phone and I told them I wanted to bring my bike to them - install the shocks and make sure we were happy Before we left - Wife like the ride on the back with the Werks - left and have been very happy - Progressive may have been just as good or maybe even better - but when I was about to spend $500 for shocks, Progressive failed the service test on the phone

Thanks for the feedback guys, I ordered the 11.5" shocks today. I'm sure I'll give up some comfort with the shorter ones but I want the bike lower. I usually ride solo and am a whimpy 150 pounds, so it should all work out okay. If I was to mount these shocks with the 1" lowering blocks what should I expect in regards to the tire hitting the fender or ride quality?

I put 12" Progressive 412's on my E-glide Shovel. Tried 11", but it was so low, it scraped too easy when leaning. The guy at the store was really cool and let me trade for the 12", since I hadn't messed up the 11's and re-packaged them carefully.

Can't even imagine 11 1/2's with 1" lowering blocks. You won't need a kickstand.

Just installed and test rode the 11.5" shocks, it's stiffer than with stock shocks and lowering block, but I expected that. I have a question for those with experience with the 412s, do they 'break in' and get softer, and how much does temperature effect ride; it's only about 50-55 derees today.
