Touring Parts MSRP

Has anyone been to a dealer and found them charging over MSRP for parts? I need some bolts to mount some highway pegs, and stopped at my local dealer (AD Farrow). The bolts were 14% over MSRP. Looking around, everything was more than MSRP. I asked about the difference in price, and he said: "The price I had is MSRP.... Manufacturer Suggested Retail Price, because it's suggested, doesn't mean we have to sell it at that price"

Needless to say, I walked out.

Some think it is what the market will bear I guess. Talked to a guy last wk who asked me about the QD leather tour pack on my RK. A dealer in Milwaukee priced the set up at 2300.00. Racine HD priced it at 1400.00. DUH

My local must charge over MSRP..........$7.95ea. for 6R12 plugs,$13.95 for a black 5 micron filter!

I've never paid over MSRP that I know of, I would absolutely refuse unless I'm in Egypt, or somewhere and they have something I need with no choice to go anywhere else, I would walk out also, probably go back after I got the part elsewhere and make conversation with other people there about the prices just for the heck of it.

Once again, the arrogance of some dealers never ceases to amaze me. The statement they made about msrp would have taken the cake. And then these a**holes want to complain about the internet resellers. Serves them to out, there is plenty of profit built into the HD MSRP.

I counted 11 dealers within 100 miles of me according to the POI's on my GPS. Too much competition around here to charge over MSRP. At that most of them give a HOG discount.

I try to research whatever I'm buying and look in the 2011 Accessory book to see what MSRP is before I go in. 3 times this season they have "Had the Wrong Price" in the computer
