can't get wires out

hey how do I get the wires out of my handlebar controls, I am doing a bar change and need to add extensions.

Please Help

You don't. You take the wires out of the connectors at the other end! To do that you take a dental pick or a small needle nose pliers and pull up the lock tab (you'll see the two opposing half moon holes in the middle to hook on to). Once that is done you take a paper clip or a small screwdriver fashioned into a pin tool and push through the holes at each corresponding wire while pulling from the rear.

What he said! Do a you tube search and there are videos that show this step by step. Pretty simple procedure. Each wire is color coded and so is your left and right harnesses. Just make sure you make a drawing of where each wire goes in the harness. Don't want to turn on your signal and have your horn beep, etc.

Ya what they said, I flattened out some different sized paper clips and they worked like a charm. You always add the extensions to the plug in the fairing, much easier than at the switchs. good luck.
