I was at Mad River Harley in Sandusky, Ohio for their first anniversary party.
First, a word about rain suits. I have a HD High Vis, but the truth is it doesn't work, nobodies rain suit works worth a damn. That is 100% true, unless you actually put the rain suit on! I learned the hard way it is always better to put on your rain suit early rather than trying to put in on when your soaked...
Anyway I was on the highway rain was coming down medium hard, I was doing a comfortable 68 mph passing occasional cars. When it started to rain really hard i had to slow down, not because the bike didn't like it, but because i couldn't see. I am 6' with a 27" inseam (I should have been about 6'6" but god was playing jokes) so I sit very tall in the saddle. This meant the rain was coming off the windshield and straight back into my glasses.
Since rain in face is not a good thing I plan on getting a new windshield in the near future.
The point of this thread is comment on how well behaved the bike was. I was nice and dry in my suit and the bike was perfectly happy going any speed there was enough visibility to maintain. The bike did not shimmy over wet tar strips like my heritage did. I feel confident that if me and momma get caught in a down pour this bike will see us through...
