Default Progressive 940's (again)

The service manager at a dealership rode my 2007 Road King Custom on Saturday and commented that if I wanted to improve my ride I should get the Progressive 940 shocks. I searched the forums and saw a thread just a couple of days old on these shocks. I would like to hear from any Road King Custom owners who have gone from the stock shocks to the 940's. Am I correct in assuming that the stock shocks on the Street Glides are the same as the ones I have? Can anyone chime in about the difference in ride quality? I realize that this is very subjective (like which mufflers sound the best) but your comments will be greatly appreciated and help me decide whether or not to drop the 500 bones. Thanks.

I have an '09 RK and was looking through the forums for some info on the 940's as well...went to the progressive website and liked what I saw.....I was also intrigued by the monotube fork cartridge kit for the front end. check it out!

I would be more impressed if someone had a rent them b4 you buy them. Shelling out over $500 clams to find out there not as advertised is not a good thing. I can visit a camera web site and rent a $10,000 camera lens for a week why not a pair of $500 shocks???

I have looked at the monotube kit and think it would be a nice upgrade as well. I am just looking for some more feedback from forum members who switched to the 940's from the stock air shocks like I have on my FLHRS.

We have the 940's and the mono tube cartridge kit in both of our baggers. they perform much better than the stock front or rear set up.

We sell them too.

I put the 940's on my roadglide (cvo) and it was night and day, everything got better! even the weather improved!! no, seriously ride quality is fantastic, handling is greatly improved (even for a brick in the wind!) I like them alot, so much so that I have ordered the monotube ft5 shocks to go with them

Default Progresive 940's

The Progressive 940's are a very good shock. I did extensive reserach on shocks before I changed them on my 2011 RKC. I put a set of RICORS on. I decided to go with the RICOR package....front and rear. What an amazing difference. It takes about two weeks to get. They make them to order acording to your weight.

Check em out.

Those RICORS seem to be pretty expensive. I am sure they are a great shock. I usually don't ride more than 300 miles a day and am just looking for a more cushioned ride for my 60 year old a$$ and back.

Have 940's and Mono-tubes on a SEUC, they will be firmer than the stock shock. Not harsh, but firm. If you like the very soft smushy ride, and the front end dive under braking these may not be for you.
If you like accurate tracking, and a little sportier feel, you will appreciate the Progressive line. On the rear it takes a little trial and error to get them set right. Plus, if you go from one, to too up, you may need to adjust them again.
Had had a couple of my friends ride my SEUC, some like the way it feels some say its too stiff. You do tend to feel more of the road with the Progressives.
I guess its a matter of personal choice.

I had the monotubes installled a couple of weeks ago and I am truly impressed by the difference in ride. Like everyone says, it really addresses the front end 'dive' when you're braking. I have the 940's in my garage and they're going on this weekend!

Definitely not a cheap mod, but well worth it in my opinion.
