It was definatly oil that came out slow.. The manual says do not remove but doesnt say what it is, Or what it drains.. This is the 1000 mile break in none of the oil was really dark it all lookd about the same.
You just removed the tapered pipe plug which is an inspection port in the oil pan (no worries). Need to either go buy yourself an oil-temp gauge (perfect time to install), or coat w/red locktite & re-install...
dont know if your going to like this or not,,but removing this hex bolt is not a good thing,
Part of the manufacturing. Messing with it can cause you to split the oil pan. Many have found out the hard way not to mess with.
It is not a HD plot to stop you from draining out all of your oil. proceed with caution on reinstallation of this bolt..hope that helps...
Yes that is what it is the place where it is the optimum place to read the oil temp, there is no seal so you have to use some kind of pipe sealer on the threads.

Thank you very much that is definatly what it was.. I did not use sealer. I guess I will get some silicon or something of that nature tommorrow and take it back off again and seal it
I just looked it up in my service manual (2010 Touring), and you want to install that tapered pipe plug (or hex plug) with Loctite Pipe Sealant with teflon 565 (P/N 99818-97). Tighten to 18-22 ft-lbs (24.4 29.8 NM).
