There was a line to test ride...many honda in parking lot also. They gave me a Dyna low. There was a woman on the SG, she go on it and got off. " I am not riding this, too big". I said I will switch, she said ok because I had a dyna low.
2007 Black Street Glide. Here is my opinion: Man does it handle nice. It feels very light. I did not hear and noise, in fact all I could here is the radio. The stock exhaust is quiter then a cars exhaust! The six speed seems like it is geared very high. Only a 5,500 rpm redline? Great seat on there, very good ride. Overall I like. It was about 1/2 as fast as my sporty off the line(thats ok, it was a better ride). I had some problems keeping up with all the softails..including the 110 ci SE Softail(no surprise there). In all, it is a great bike...I would love to get one with the HD tax already paid to make it right.
the stock exhaust on 07SG was quiet for about 2 months---after 2 1/2 months it now has a very small amount of rumble---still to quiet for me--I have wild pig slip ons on the way.
for me the SG shows it strength on the highway--riding with my buddy Robert from Stone Mtn HD-back to Atlanta--he was ten fifteen miles ahead of me on his Sporty 1200 -- I hit the gas without any drama bike starts running somewhat above the spend limit--rock steady I was up on him in no time.
If I had the opportunity to do it all over again I would get an Ultra and turn it into a SG. I like the idea of having a tour pak and some chrome.
The bike I rode had almost 6,000 miles on it. I think I am use to the one sportster muffler being under you foot (more sound), where on the SG they are both at the rear.
The best part was I could not figure out where the key was on the SG? I asked another harley guy (fully dressed with all HD clothes), he comes over...he cant find the key either! Then another person found it for us.....
That brings up a good point. I have an 04 Road King Classic, and am looking at putting a Russ Wernimont Designs stretched gas tank from a Road Glide on it. I like the smooth look of the console instead of having the gauge cluster and the ignition in the middle of the tank.
The only thing I have not come up with it where to relocate my ignition to. I was at the dealer yesterday buying a set of street slammer bars and lines, and forgot to look.
