I have the long reach and still battling to find the correct setting. I regret buying these and will change to short reach (I am 6ft). I found a comfortable position with the long reach but I felt my foot was being hemmed in so it didn't feel safe to me
Well, here's where I ended up. Still not happy with the appearance, but it places the pegs where I want them. Probably go with the short-armed version eventually.
I think they look awesome. I really like your choice of pegs/brake pad too.
Thanks, VistaVette! I didn't want to change out the footboard inserts because I think the soft rubber is more comfortable than most of the accessory inserts. So the brake pedal and pegs seemed to be a good choice since they have a similar pattern.
Pastor John, how's it going ? First off, the highway pegs look awesome I think, almost looks like it came from the factory that way. Secondly, I could'nt agree with you more about the Rubik's cube joke ! Sometimes I feel like you have to be a Harvard Graduate to get these things to fit the way you want. I've had the Kuryakyn dually Iso long arm models and I kinda wished I would've got the short arm model instead. Took a 4,000 mile trip last year(8 days) and I was about to hacksaw them off when I got back. Glad to see you got yours where you like em. Hopefully, I can get to do that Blue Ridge Pkwy trip some day. I still look at the pictures you posted awhile bike every now and then. Ride Safe...
Hey gang. I just got the short angled version and tried to put them on last night. I can't seem to get them to fit for the life of me.
The clamp is tight but the gap is probably a 1/4" or so. The little plastic washer just spins freely. What's the trick? Anyone else experience this?
I recently put the short angled on too and thought they didn't fit at first. I basically just cranked them down until the gap was pretty small, but there's still a gap. Kind of annoying, but I already forgot about it.
Thanks alot for reminding me! URGH! LOL... Just kidding.
Slightly off topic - I just installed the 360 set - no pic's yet. The thing seems to be that you have to play with the set up until you find what's right for you. I need to do some more adjusting as I'm finding the heat from the right side to be uncomfortable on my inner thigh with the current placement. This is when I stretch my right leg out all the way. When I am using the peg rest for a "toe-rest", I don't have the heat issue. The clamps do tighten all the way (no gaps or loose washers). I'm right at 6 foot with a 31 inch inseam (30's are too small and 32's are too long).
I just went through trying to figure out which mount to get, when I settled on the short angled version. I don't have lowers, am around 5' 10", have a 31" inseam, and like to rest my heel on the floorboard and toe on the highway peg. I couldn't be happier with this set.
