After a 2000 ride last week, my friends Classic returned 40 MPG. Got 40 MPG today on a 300 mile run with me....only 5 MPG less than my EFI 1200.

I have often wondered if a larger tank is available for my Ultra Road King. I don't care what the milage is, I just don't like to stop so often on the hi-way!

Probably irrelevant among all these TC reports, but Old Blue's mileage varies greatly:

Worst, 75mph w/20mph headwind: 42 mpg
Usual around-town: 46-47
Usual 70-75mph constant, no wind: 45-48
Usual 55-60mph constant, no wind: 52-55
Best, 50-55mph w/20mph tailwind: 63

Average for road trips in touring trim: 54 (mostly backroads)

Thunderslide increased mileage 15% when installed in 1998, also improving throttle response and eliminating flat spot in previous setup with Yost Master Tube. I recommend this for bikes with CV carbs. Again, perhaps irrelevant since everyone here has EFI, but intesting by comparison.

I have never gotten more then 37 to 38 MPG on my 06' FLHRI RK even with mostly highway riding at about 75 to 80 mph. Most of the time it's between 34 to 35 MPG with city and highway.

Around here we have so many grades that just a quick ride to breakfast includes a couple of 6% grades. A 75 mph run up to Cedar City 45 miles away up a 6-8% grade takes almost a half a tank. Usually have a wind coming down the canyon too. If I were in the flatlands, no doubt I would have better fuel mileage.[8D]

I get a hair over 40 mpg combined. I have seen a 3-4 mpg increase since I switched to "Regular" gas. I don't know why it went up but it did.
