I have often wondered if a larger tank is available for my Ultra Road King. I don't care what the milage is, I just don't like to stop so often on the hi-way!
Average for road trips in touring trim: 54 (mostly backroads)
Thunderslide increased mileage 15% when installed in 1998, also improving throttle response and eliminating flat spot in previous setup with Yost Master Tube. I recommend this for bikes with CV carbs. Again, perhaps irrelevant since everyone here has EFI, but intesting by comparison.
I have never gotten more then 37 to 38 MPG on my 06' FLHRI RK even with mostly highway riding at about 75 to 80 mph. Most of the time it's between 34 to 35 MPG with city and highway.
Running local twisties or out on the highway....Constant 42 to 45 MPG...>Even down to Biketobefest on the interstate running 70-75 not a problem!!!!
07 RK Classic with the PCIII SE Air cleaner and has been Professionally Dyno-Tuned and I am at 30...this is mosty city type riding, very little interstate so far and I do tend to Play with the throttle a lil bit......LOL
Around here we have so many grades that just a quick ride to breakfast includes a couple of 6% grades. A 75 mph run up to Cedar City 45 miles away up a 6-8% grade takes almost a half a tank. Usually have a wind coming down the canyon too. If I were in the flatlands, no doubt I would have better fuel mileage.[8D]
