Honestly, ANY of the Touring bikes are wonderful.

I DO recommend Cruise, ABS, and security, though.....

Oh...and heated grips!

You will be money ahead to get the Limited, otherwise you will end up doing it later anyway. The bike is heavy and is slugggish in 6th gear, I went with the 103 kit and a SE 255 cam. Not only did it wake it up but I am very happy with it.

Wow, surprised to see this older thread still making the rounds, and I recall quickly reading this one some time ago. Both nice bikes, different options and paint schemes, and the FL family has really come of age in the past few years with a style to suit almost everyone, which is good to see. I also looked at both, while a colleague bought the Ultra Classic , I bought the Limited, based upon our respective desires and expectations, and financial commitments... Lets see some bike pics !!!

I do wonder what the MoCo will do for 110th year ? ...LOL.

My 2007 Ultra was totaled out from under me, so while my collarbone healed, I spent time shopping. One of my considerations was ABS. I'm fairly certain that ABS could have prevented or lessened my accident, so my next bike was going to have it.

All my touring bikes have had the premium luggage rack, so there ya go. I had planned to install the power outlet in the top case also.

The heated grips are just so damn nice. I would put them on a bike that didn't have them.

I live on the bike in riding season and take a few longer trips in the summer. One thing I hate is spending a lot of time cleaning the rims when hundreds of miles from home. The chrome makes it easy to wipe and ride. Regular alloys start to breakdown and develop that aluminum dust after a few years.

Once I was healed and the Doctor gave me the green light, I was sure all the 2010s were sold and gone, but luckily there was one last Limited in the colors I wanted. Sold. The up-front price seemed steep because the bike is now set up just how I want it, but in the long run, it's cheaper than upgrading an Ultra.

Wow! It's fortunate that you came out of that crash as well as you did!

This is a good description of the value of the Limited. Can't wait to take delivery of my new one in a couple of days.

Ride safe and enjoy your Limited!

I moved from an EG Ultra Classic to a 2012 Limited with ABS, oil cooler, heated grips, chrome wheels, and two tone paint and love it - so it's worth it to me. Much nicer looking instrumentation, too.

Default G Dawg ...

Must admit that Big Blue Pearl looks sweet , in the shade ! HD maybe should have made a Blue & Silver or White two tone version, IMHO. Looks good all the same, but I did opt for another color.

Hmmm..... not everyone wants ABS and it's the most expensive option for the regular Ultra.
Both bikes have now the same engine, same cams, same compensator and same oil cooler.
Besides ABS, the differences between the 2 2012 models are not very significant, IMO. They're mostly cosmetic and some guys believe they can live without them, or they believe they're not worth the price difference.
Both bikes have their pluses and minuses and since Harley continues to offer the 2, it's probably because there's demand for both.
We'll see if one is discontinued in 2013. I doubt it.

If they would have had the Limited with those options when I traded... that's what I would be riding.
