Fuel burn oddity
I have been trying to guess WTF is happening here. Two virtually identical bikes, (mine and GFs). Mine is a 04 FLRHSI and hers is an identical 06. Mine has 18,000miles, a stage 1 kit, hers has 72,000 miles, stock but with Rineharts.
I have noticed in the past when we fill up and I asked, she always takes a little more gas.. On a ride back from Key West, Riding together every minute; My speedo said 141.1mi and I took 3.7gal, her speedometer says 147.7mi and took 4.2gal... If anything I’m more aggressive at the take offs, but not by much.. I should have set a trip in the GPS.. Hmmmm....... When my speedo reads 83, the GPS shows 79mph, maybe the error is in my speedo. Still don’t explain the total fuel burn difference.

normal speedo error IMHO.
so, the major difference has to be in fuel consumption. How much tuning has been done on each bike, what altitude?
Some of the factors might be in driver style I.E. Cruising in 4th gear. Take Offs, and running the motor at stops or reving the engine. Also there could be a clean and dirty engine and injectors here.
I'm no mechanic, but those are my thoughts.
do either of you have stock or custom wheels?

Could be due to riding style, engine wear, tuning, tire pressure, weight, seating position and any combination of these and other factors.
