Default saddlebag lock question????

Over the winter I had the scoot painted. I took the saddlebags apart but I didn't take apart the entire latch I just removed it from the bag. The other day I was out and about and went to lock the bags and they do not lock. Wtf? I looked through the service manual and it was no help for this. Anyone know if I can adjust this fairly easily? Thanks

I am having a different problem but similar. On one of my bags the lock will turn farther than it should. When I check the nut on the inside of the latch it is loose. When I tighten the nut up snug then the lock will not work! I have to back the nut off again to where its "loose" and then the lock will work. Dont like this as I am afraid the nut is going to finally back off entirely and be lost.......how in the hell do you adjust these locking mechanisms? This is a bag on a 2010 StreetGlide.

Do you still have a "washer" between the nut and the locking mech?? That washer should keep the nut away and you should be able to tighten the nut down. Not sure what else it could be...good luck with the search

I had the same problem. The dealer replaced it. Buy a new one.

jjnoble, did they just replace the locking mechanism or did they replace the entire latch?
audettd, there is no washer and judging by the diagram supplied by Harleypingman, there isnt supposed to be one......
