I just wanted to echo what the majority have already said: Glad you're still with us on the green side of the sod and THANK YOU for your service to our country! Guys like you make me proud every day to be an American.
I did this one in my garage, my buddy chose the House of Kolors blue, then I took the frame to the powder coater and he matched it. It was perfect. I've done painted frames and while they were good they didn't hold up as well as the powder coat. Take a piece of something with the red (I know you have some ) on it to a powder coater and see if they have a match. I used Precision in Spring TX, they're awesome.
Lol yeah i've got a few pieces i can take. Thanks man, i'll look into it!

Well, a quick thunderstorm hit around 0200 monday morning on my way home. I was going too fast (probably around 60) and failed to negotiate a turn all the way. From what i remember, the rear end got loose, i let off the brakes, and hit a culvert. Went airborne, slammed into the ground, somehow i ended up in a ditch full of water with the bike on my left leg.
Sore as hell, chipped bone in my ankle, burns, double vision, and tissue/muscle damage from the weight of the bike slamming my leg. I'm on crutches and banged up but alive and not too bad off. Bike is ****ed, flirting with a total loss. Repair bill is over $10,000 right now. Gotta love that insurance.
Saddlebags exploded, windshield is gone, seat destroyed, crash bars bent, gas tank crushed...basically anything that had paint on it is trashed. And yeah, my 1/2 helmet saved my noggin from some serious **** - CT scan was negative despite having a knot on my head a sore nose bridge and double vision.
***EDIT*** also, if any of you want to be a douchebag, just keep it to yourself. i don't need parenting from an internet forum, i just figured you homies would want to see pictures
That sucks. It was a great looking scooter. I'm glad it sounds like you will heal.
Good luck, fixing or replacing. It's in your blood so get back on and ride when you can.
Damn - when I crash I intend to land in a ditch full of water too. You are one lucky SOB. Get better - and Progressive . . . Love that company. They never argued with thing one about my claim in Alaska even though it was basically just my word that the accident was a hit and run. And they fixed a couple of additional minor issues that didn't show up until a year later (like - the handle bars really were bent despite what the first adjuster thought). They also cut me a check for all replacement parts at msrp plus sales tax plus book rate for repair labor cost and when I told them I was going to buy off eBay they said no problemo - feel free to rebuild and pocket the difference.

I bounced off the asphalt driveway before landing in the ditch, but i can think of many worse places to land.
So far, so good with Progressive. The adjuster is friendly and fast and said I could change whatever I wanted with the money I got. $13-14K will go a longggggggg way when rebuilding a bike!
Just remember you have 3 years to claim any additional damage ('least ways you do in Washington State). Just keep all documentation and don't sign anything that says the payout is final and non negotiable - then again I think Progressive is above that.
