I installed the J&M 7.25 speakers in mine, HUGE difference from stock.
I'm about to install speakers in my lowers and a 4ch amp... I'll report back when I have that done.

I am VERY happy with my Boom Audio Speakers from Harley. I have them installed on my 10 StreetGlide and couldn't be happier. What sold me on them was taking my friends RoadGlide out for a ride with them installed. I as well as my friend did the speaker upgrade with no other additions to the audio system. They look and sound great. Plus, you can't beat the price!

Ride safe...

If you decide to go with the "Non-Motorcycle" standard automobile type speakers, just remember.
The regular speakers are made to be used inside the cars. Not exposed to the rain and UV light on a regular basis.
Motorcycle type speakers are made to get wet and have the sun shine on them for years without breaking down.

Now for the speakers i use. I have used the Harley speaker upgrades in my last Ultra. When I bought my '09 new, I wanted something that had a better sound without adding an amp. I installed the J&M 7.25 speaker kit. The kit comes with the inner fairing pad that helps to improve the sound and make the fairing a speaker box. I also have added the KW Flair windshield. This makes the radio sound very clear at Highway speeds. A vast improvement over the stock and Harley Upgraded speakers.

Just remember, you get what you pay for.

I'm in the process of installing "Shockwave" speakers and also I'm selling some Hogtunes front speakers... PM if interested, but anything would be better than stock thats for sure! Glacierpearl knows what he is talking about, read his posts on his sick stereo! you will never look back!

Good luck with your choice there is a ton of info out there.....

Ditto on this. I wasn't pleased with these speakers either.

Have put in Kicker speakers and very pleased. Haven't yet added an amp as the back order time was 4 months. After running without the amp not sure if I will add one or not when they come in.

Default Had both J&M and Hogtunes with 2003 HD Ultra Classic

Hogtunes 5.25, J&M 5.25 and J&M 7.25 speakers.

Replace the Hogtunes (Bought the bike used) since I wasn't pleased with the clarity at highway speeds.

J&M 5.25 at the exact 8ohm rating of head unit much better clarity.

J&M 7.25 is better at mid bass, no real deep bass from speaker.

Next move will be complete Marine Grade head unit, speakers and 4-channel amp.

Replacement speaker mentioned above is an inexpensive way of improving sound.

Need bass? There are sub kits that be mounted in your tour pack but then you don't have any room to carry stuff.

Maybe mount the marine amp under tour pack and waterproof all connections.

Maybe some day...
